St. Mary's Hall enjoys the considerable advantage of being adjacent to its senior school, Stonyhurst College, thus offering continuous education from 7-18 as well as making available a range of facilities normally not found in a Preparatory School. At the same time it has its own distinct identity being organised as a family unit led by the Headmaster and his wife. Whilst being academically ambitious, professional help is also available for the less able child whose achievements are a source of great pride to the school. The Creative Arts have a prime place in the Curriculum with Music, Art, Craft, Drama, Theatre Workshop (a brand new theatre has recently been built) and Video Filming/Editing available to all children. There is a fully-equipped Computer Room. The school's sporting reputation is high but our Physical Education philosophy is to develop in all children as wide as possible a range of recreational outlets. This we are able to do by virtue of our outstanding recreational facilities: Swimming Pool, Sports Hall, Gym and 4 Tennis Courts. A developing Rare Breed Area has added considerably to the life of the School. There is a resident Jesuit priest and Jesuit Brother and the school's values are enshrined in a carefully-structured RE programme according to the Jesuit ideal of 'education for others'. We are pleased to welcome committed Christians of other Faiths, and in this way we are enabled to live out our ideal of community and service to others. Children regularly take part in fund-raising events for the Third World. In the past few years an average of รบ5000 per year has been raised.
Any enquiries about a visit should be addressed to the Headmaster.
